The Spirit of Christ

"This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in the word and deed. Keep a promise. Forget a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it
again."
-President Howard W. Hunter

Prom

Being involved with student council I was strongly encouraged to attend the Junior prom even though I'm a senior. The monday before prom I decided to go but I didn't have a date. Mason, a close friend, was kind enough to agree to go with me. Next, I had to find a dress. Why did I wait til last minute to decide to go? I'll never know but luckily I was able to borrow a dress from Lynlee that she had worn in high school. A group of friends and Mason and I went to F to have sushi and then headed to the dance, I enjoyed myself and had a blast.

6 months

A lot has happend in the last 6 months. Summer break with trips including EFY and family reunions, my first college class (english 101), the first 9 weeks of my senoir year, with 2 AP classes (which i got all A's), another season of Varsity soccer (only 2 wins this year), my first homecomming dance, Junior Prom again (Pics to follow) and much more. I still want to do everything. I am the senior class Vice President, the Historian of National Honor Society, I'm volenteering at aim (an after school program for at risk elementary children), Jazz choir (also after school) and voice lessons. With all of this I am still able to have fun :)

Youth Confernce

Yesterday I was able to attend youth conference in our stake. There was about 90 youth there and it was a lot of fun. In the Morning we came in our Sunday dress, we enjoyed breakfast, had some get to know you games, went to four amazing workshops, had lunch and had a formal testimony meeting with a few musical numbers. Then in the afternoon we went to Lattin Farms and enjoyed the warm sunny weather with water kickball. There were also other activities but kickball was the most popular. The weather didn't cooperate so we moved back to the church for dinner, performing of skits and a dance.
I was on the committee to plan this youth activity and it was fun being the Co President. I was happy with the turn out.
I was very impressed with all of the workshops that took place. I learned something in all and each strengthened my testimony. I loved this experience because I was able to feel the spirit while having fun.
It is good to see all the youth that share the same standards with me. Strength does come in numbers and I think that these youth will be able to stand strong with any temptation if they stick together.

Knee surgery

I'm sure you all know but I had knee surgery three weeks from today. What they found was plica (scar tissue) and a band in my knee that should have dissolved when I was an infant. They took out the band and smoothed out the . My knee looks pretty good. I had three incisions and one you can hardly see and the other two have just little scabs. I am going to physical therapy once a week because we have to go to Reno and that is often a pain to go three to four times a week. I have been doing the same exercises at home. I can almost straighten my leg all the way, and I can bend it about a 45 degree angle. I was only on crutches for 5 days. At first I didn't like the idea of being off them because I was so slow at walking and it was tiring and was painful, but after a few days I was only slightly limping. Now I can walk fine most of the time. But i can't stand up for a long time because my other leg gets tired.

Thank You

I'd just like to leave a little note for my parents. I'd like to thank them for all that they do and for the fun vacation to Rome they recently took the family on. It was a lot of fun and I really appreciate it. Thank you and I love you very much.
Love your eldest daughter

Track

I was ready for track season because I was starting to feel lazy. I went to 2 pre-season work outs and then I went to a week and a half of practice. It was fun to run and be with friends. I wasn't in too bad of shape and it felt good and refreshing to run, but my knee didn't agree. It was still hurting from my soccer incident. I went to the doctor again and he said to go to Physical therapy and that I can no longer do track. I was very disappointed but hopefully I will be strong, healthy and ready to play soccer in the fall.

Finals

I think that i speak for all high school students when i say, "I HATE FINALS". They are so stressful, you study for hours and you you still feel like nothing has sunken into your thick head. I am so glad that they are done even though i din't do well this semester. But i am glad that my slate will start new again on monday.

An Amazing Experience

I have an amazing friend who has an amazing spirit and personality. This whole experience took a long time but it was well worth it. First it was just do you want to come to mutual with me. then it was would you like to come to family home evening with me, then Her sister started to come to mutual and then the whole family was going to family home evening. Then she came to church soon along followed her sisters and mother. Then the missionaries started coming to Family Home Evening. Before you know it her youngest sister wanted to be baptized. every one is so excited that was in September but the other family members are not quite ready to follow in her example. After going to church for about a year, along with 8 months of missionary lessons, and mutual for years, and a month of seminary. The older sisters decide that they are ready along with their mom. Because these girls know every one in town they have a big baptism in the chaple with over 120 people there. Because Mom is much more quiet she decides to have her own baptism with only 15 special people there instead of the whole town. I am thankful for this family and how it has strengthened my testimony immensely.
